Composium 2026: Open Rehearsals – Category B Finals

In Category B: East Meets West, composers bring together the distinctive sounds of Western and Chinese instruments to explore the meeting point between different musical traditions, timbres and techniques. Through this eight-musician chamber ensemble, new possibilities emerge as contrasting musical voices come together.

As part of Composium 2026’s open rehearsal format, audiences are invited into the creative process as these new works take shape. Witness composers exchange ideas with adjudicators, conductor and musicians, refining their works and discovering how Eastern and Western musical voices can meet, respond and transform one another.
