Composium 2026: Open Rehearsals – Category A Finals

Get a glimpse behind the scenes and discover the creative process of Composium 2026, a competition where new Chinese chamber music takes shape before your eyes. In this unique open rehearsal format, finalist composers work directly with Ding Yi Music Company’s adjudicators, conductor and musicians, receiving feedback and refining their works as they are performed. Witness composers test ideas, respond to questions and make artistic decisions in real time. More than a concert, this is a rare look at how new music is created, challenged and brought to life.

This year’s Category A features chamber works written for Ding Yi’s full ensemble of 13 musicians, reflecting the company’s distinctive instrumentation.

This programme is in collaboration with Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay.
