Synopsis

Presented as part of a flagship festival organised by Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Ding Yi Music Company takes the stage in a special cross-border collaboration with Malaysia Chinese Century Orchestra. Bringing together musicians from Singapore and Malaysia, the
concert celebrates shared cultural heritage while exploring fresh contemporary expressions through Chinese chamber music.

The programme features a curated selection of works that spotlight Singaporean musical voices within the evolving landscape of Asian music. A highlight of the evening is the timeless violin concerto The Butterfly Lovers, featuring Ming Goh as soloist alongside the Malaysia Chinese Century Orchestra. Audiences can also look forward to a special guzheng duet performance by Sara Heng, renowned guzheng artist and educator, and Ding Yi musician Yvonne Tay, showcasing the lyrical beauty and expressive versatility of the guzheng through artistic collaboration.

Bridging tradition and contemporary practice, this concert reflects the dynamism and continued relevance of Chinese music today, while fostering meaningful artistic exchange and cultural connection across the region.
