Chasing Light 《追》：Ding Yi x Dick Lee 70

In celebration of Dick Lee’s 70th birthday, Chasing Light 《追》: Ding Yi x Dick Lee 70 reimagines the Mandarin and Cantopop classics written by one of Singapore’s most iconic creative voices, Dick Lee.

Many of these songs have lived in the hearts of audiences across Asia for decades, popularised by legendary artists such as Leslie Cheung, Sandy Lam, Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Anita Mui, Leon Lai and Aaron Kwok. While these melodies are instantly recognisable, not everyone knows them as part of Dick Lee’s remarkable songwriting legacy.

Presented by Ding Yi Music Company, the concert features vocalists Jessie Yeong, Lennerd Lim, Skye Sirena and Wysom Wong preforming beloved classics such as Chase 《追》, Love is Eternal《爱是永恒》, North South West East《北南西东》and Dawn 《破晓》. Through new arrangements by Singapore composer Sulwyn Lok, Taiwan composer Hannah Hsieh, and Hong Kong composer Law Kin Pong and others, these classics are reimagined through the rich colours of contemporary Chinese music.

Under the baton of Resident conductor Wong De Li, Dedric and directed by Jet Ho, the concert brings together voice, chamber music and theatrical storytelling to offer a fresh perspective on songs that have shaped generations of listeners.

Chasing Light 《追》: Ding Yi x Dick Lee 70 invites audiences to rediscover familiar melodies through a new musical lens, revealing the artistry of Dick Lee’s song writing and the emotional depth of contemporary Chinese chamber music.
