Celebrate the Year of the Horse with Ding Yi Music Company at the Go Local! Happy Chinese New Year Concert, presented in collaboration with the China Cultural Centre. This festive celebration brings together Ding Yi musicians with guest artists from Hong Kong’s Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble and Charisma Ensemble, the acclaimed Chinese music ensemble of the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, for a vibrant Lunar New Year musical gathering.

Audiences can look forward to familiar favourites and refreshed classics, from the uplifting Overture: Music Roaming Around the Bay to the lyrical erhu feature Blooming Flower, led by Ding Yi’s Chen Ning. The timeless Autumn Moon Over A Calm Lake offers a moment of elegance and charm, featuring Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble’s Ho Siu-cheong on xiao. In The Bamboo and the Green Pine, Charisma Ensemble’s Xue Qing (daruan) joins Wang Yan (erhu) in a graceful, expressive exchange, while Purple Bamboo brings together Xue Qing (pipa), Wang Yan (erhu), and Ho Siu-cheong (dizi) in a lively celebration of cross-ensemble collaboration.
